September 2011

The first of September we started of with a birthday party for my grandma Connie.  She invited us over to swim before and then for dinner, cake and ice cream.  She is awesome.

Granmda Connie's birthday quite often falls around Labor.  So over the weekend we headed up to the cabin to play.

She was so happy to have a shoulder ride.

So on sunday nights dinner my dad was making Sparkin' Potatoes.  A dutch oven chef's worst nightmare occurred.  He accidently spilled the ashes from the coals into the dutch oven.

My mom managed to savage the bacon the best she could.  At least it was only
the bacon being cooked at the time.  Added protein is how I think of it.

Trying to make do.  When you are at the cabin it is not like you are home and can just grab some more bacon out of the fridge or just run to the store.  But I guess that is life.  We have a pretty good laugh.  My dad on the other hand was not laughing.  He was saying some kind words.

Kennedy's new hat.

My friend Whitney and her husband asked Blake and I to play in a softball tournament.  I asked my parents if they wanted to come to watch and also to watch Kennedy.  Grandma Karen treated Kennedy to face painting that some girls were doing for the kids.  Kennedy loved being a kitty.

So December 2010 my mom and her sister tried to get some pictures of Kennedy and Ellie.  They said they were not going to try this again.  But here were are.  This time the photo shoot was much  better. (Sorry for the small pictures.  If I make them bigger, they go grainy. Dang Target pictures.)

Kennedy's "GO UTES!"

being a "Y" fan.

August 2011

The month of August.

First off Kennedy was invited to a swimming party for Reagan (my good friend Whitney's daughter.)  Reagan turned 2.  Blake wasn't able to go.  I ended up only getting pictures of Kennedy.

 Little Miss Daredevil.

I hosted a baby shower for my friend Mindy who was expecting twins.  A girl and a boy.  Their due date was mid Novermber.  I took some pictures of the food I prepared for the shower.  I have to thank my aunt Sharon. She was the one who came up with all the cute ideas for the food.

 Main table

 Cupcakes

Shooters filled with ranch dip, carrots, and celery.
Behind was light and dark green and white rock candy.

 Chilled Strawberry soup.

Turkey and swiss sandwiches.

Miss Ellie my cousin Keri's little girl also turned 1.

Megan and Ellie the birthday girl.

Kennedy at the "photo" booth.  Keri had a carnival theme.  It was so so cute!

The last weekend of August my mom, Kennedy, and me met Blake and my dad out at the the Bookcliffs.  Blake was so lucky again to draw a limited entry tag.  This year it was for a deer.  You think hunting in Africa was good enough for one year.  HAHA.  My dad and Blake spent 10 days out there.  They had a whole setup.  I should have taken some pictures of the camp.  They had the fifth wheel, the horse trailer, the horses, the four-wheeler, the four-wheeler trailer, etc.  This was a pretty nice setup.  My friend Whitney's husband won an elk hunt to the Bookcliffs.  She told us not to go out there because it was so sage brushy and windy.  Which on top was true, but my dad and Blake found a really nice canyon that actually had some aspens and lush green grass with some shade.  On top there was no shade.  The neatest part was Kennedy and I were there when Blake shot with his bow the deer.  We found the deer, and then watched Blake stalk, aim, and shot the deer with his bow and arrow at 30 yards.  I don't think Kennedy got what was going on till Blake came back with it to the trailer.

We went on a four wheeler ride looking for a herd of deer and with a deer noteworthy to shoot.  Well, Blake and my dad found one.

So before we got to Blake, my dad, mom, Kennedy and me had to go back to the trailer to take them back and get some supplies.  On our way back my dad found this "trail' for four wheelers in order to get to where Blake was.  I was trying to keep up with him.  Needless to say I rolled the four wheeler.  Really I just put it on it's side.  I was trying to come back across and my wheel got caught in the run off channel which caused me to roll the machine on it's side.  Opps.  I was not hurt and the machine was uninjuried as well.  Blake I think was more worried about his four wheeler than I was.

Packin up to take the deer back to camp.  They had to put the deer in the horse trailer for the night.
We were in bear country.

August Randoms

Reagan, Kennedy, and Savannah all in Kennedy's toddler bed.

Kennedy getting ready to go to church in her high heels.
The funny thing is the dress she is wearing is 12 month dress, but she is 27 months old here.

She has found a "special" drawer in our bedroom.  She thinks she is playing dress up.  This is the second time she has done this.  I have since moved the "special" drawer.  Again in her high heels.

She loves to put her toy bucket on her head when she is in the bath.
