November 2010

A few things took place in November.
First, Blake and I went to the Utah Football game.  They played TCU and they lost.   I won't discuss how much they lost by.  Even though they lost the game was still fun.

The second thing I can think of is Colton got married.  He got married the 20th of November to a really cute girl named Jordyn from the Logan area.  They had been dating each other just over a year when they got engaged and were married about 4 months later.  Jordyn has been a great addition to the family.  We are so glad she is part of the family.

October 2010

Lot happened in October.
First we went to the cabin to close things up for the winter.  It was my dad, mom, Kennedy, Broc (my mom's adoptive grandson), and myself.  The weather was so nice for October.  It was sad fall was here and winter on it's way.

As you can see, Kennedy does not
cooperate for pictures.

Fourth - Gardner Village
Kennedy, my niece and nephew Kaitlyn and Jordan, and myself met my mother-in-law and father-in-law at Gardner Village.  The weekend we went happened to also be Witches Night Out.  It was pretty cool.  The women and their witches costumes.  Man some of them went all out and they were not even part of the witches that worked for Gardner Village.  This one witch instead of having all the fruit for the hat and the coconut shells as a top had fall squash and other fall veggies in her hat and pumpkins for her top.  It was cool.  I should have got a picture.  If you have not ever may it down to Gardner Village in the month of October, you should really try to get there.  It is a blast.  They also have a witches ride and various witches real and fake witches through out.

Fifth - Craving Pumpkins

Colton

We mostly just craved out all the crap out of the pumpkins.  Colton and Jordyn were the artistic ones.
Sixth Halloween.

Little Miss Kennedy was Tinker Bell.  Cutest Tinker Bell I had ever since.  (Just being basis.)

On Friday night, my mom's ward had a carnival and trunk-or-treat in the parking of their ward building.  Our ward was hosting theirs on Saturday.  We decided to go to my mom's leaving Saturday open for whatever we wanted to do.  It was fun to watch Kennedy.  I don't think she got the concept.  She is picking things up all the time.  Next Halloween things will be more familiar.  Blake had his friend Devin and his son Tyler come up with us.  Devin had just moved to the area from back east and didn't know really where to go.  Also, Tyler's grandma came with us as well.  Devin moved to Utah in August.  He was becoming familiar with the area before he brought his son out.  So Tyler didn't have to fly alone, his grandma came too.

For "Halloween" night (since it was celebrated in Utah on Saturday verse Sunday) we actually stayed out our house this year.  Which was odd.  Until the last couple of years no one had any kids and no one trick-or-treats any more we usually go to my aunt Sharon's for pizza and chili.  I kinda missed going cause we didn't see every one.  We still had fun watching Kennedy handing out all the candy.

Blake's Archery Elk

Earlier in the year Blake put in for a limited entry archery elk hunt for the Wasatch Mountain area.  It was like he was a little kid the night before Christmas morning from the time he found out he drew out until the hunt was over.  He prepared all summer.  He and his brothers went to a couple of different areas to put up some trail cameras.  If you talked to Blake, you could not get away from him without talking about the hunt.  He got some pretty cool pictures in the meantime on the trail cameras.

The hunt opened Aug 21 and ended in the mid part of Sept.  He went opening weekend, but no luck.  He kept going out and still no luck.  The last week before the hunt ended Blake, his brothers Ryan and Kevin, and his buddy Rick went out one last time.  The hard work finally paid off.  He shot a 6x6 elk I think at 40 yards.

We will now have a new decoration in our home.  I was pretty excited for him.  Secretly, I wish he didn't get one.  Right now we just do not have the room for it.  The bright side is hopefully this is a sign that one day we will get a slightly bigger home.  Only time will tell.

The only thing is this really puts a cramp in my style for decorating for the Christmas Season.  When the elk is done being mounted, the only place with a tall enough ceiling is in the living room.  I told Blake he better be prepared to take it down so it does not over shadow my Christmas tree.  He suggested that we just get a Santa hat and a red nose to put on it.  He is a true man with that comment.  We have quite awhile till it will be done.  Until then, we will have to see.
