Kennedy Turning 3

Kennedy's Birthday Party. She had been wanting a bike. And she finally got it. She was in love with it.

I can't believe she turned 3 years old. She is getting so big. With Lexi being so small it sure remind me of when Kennedy was this young three years ago.

I think we have some black male on my nephew Jet when he gets older. Yes, his mom is helping hime put the dress on. Love it.

We had such a fun party. We are so glad our families were able to come support and show Kennedy their love.

May 2012

Kennedy thought it would be fun to put baby Lexi in her doll stroller. I agreed. Lexi actually fits pretty good. Might as well try a few things while she is so little.

Kennedy loves her new sister and can't get enough of her. While Kennedy was holding Lexi she started to dose off and I was able to get this cute picture of both of them sleeping.

I can't believe Lexi is already two weeks old. Times is sure flying fast. Oh, how much work the girls are, but oh how it is worth it.

I try to take the milesstone pictures to see how much Lexi changes. I took the same pictures with Kennedy and this same bunny. It is so fun going back to she how Kennedy changed. I thought it would be best to do the same for Lexi. Kennedy seems to also think she needs to be in all the pictures of Lexi. I hope they will be best friends one day.

Lexi also had her 2 week appointment.
Stats
Height:  19.5 inches, 20%
Weight:  6 pounds, 13 ounces, 10%
Head Circumference:  34 centimeters, 9%

My aunt Sharon usually throws a Cinco de Mayo party. We were happy to to be able to join the fiesta. Kennedy and Lexi wanted to try on the sombero. Lexi decided to not wear the sombero the traditional way. I think she looks pretty cute.

The sombero was a little too big for Kennedy. She loved it any way!

I didn't want Payzlee to feel left out of having her picture taken. One night she was a bit exhausted. Laying on her back is one of her favorite positions to lay. Such a fun family member. I love her so much. Can believe she has been part of our family for 5 1/2 years.

She almost looks like she she smiling.

Now you are not seeing double. My brother and his wife had their baby Harper on May 6th. Jordyn is quite the woman. she toughed the labor and dleivery thing at home. She is a strong woman, great mother, and wife. Lexi (2 weeks), Kennedy, Harper (hours old).

Kennedy has a new hat. She is such a silly girl. Her ideas crack us up so much. Sometimes we wonder where in the world she comes up with these ideas.

I found the cutest matching shirts before Lexi was born. Have to have some matching outfits with the girls.

This is our lovely tree. Or it was once our lovely tree. The "awesome" neighbors behind thought they would take matters into their own hands about our tree. Literally a week after we came home from the hosiptal with Lexi, we recieved a phone call. It was about 10:00 in the morning. It was our back neighbor wanting to discuss our tree. She wanted to speak with Blake, but he wasn't home. Surprisely, as most normal people he was at work. She seemed kinda dumbfounded that Blake was at work. (Mind you most of the people that lived behind us were all retired.) I asked if I could take a message. They said our tree's roots were cracking their patio. So they dug down and found a root and cut it off. They would like Blake to come over and look at it. She went on to asked when Blake might be able to return her phone call. I said that I was unsure as we just had a new baby a week ago and he was working to make up some hours. I thought that was the end of it. But no... My nice grandma Connie said she would come sit with me and the girls and keep Kennedy entertained. In the afternoon Kennedy said she wanted to go swing. She had already tired my grandma out, so I said I would take a turn while Grandma could enjoy little Lexi. While I was outside, so was the back neighbor. She wanted me to jump up to look over the fence at the root of the tree they found on their side of their property. I had to reiterate to her I had just had major surgery and was not going to be doing any jumping and that my husband would get back with her. She carried on for about another five minutes and I had to get a bit nasty with her. She wasn't quite getting that I just had a baby via c-section a week ago and her problems with a tree root were not my number one priority. Needless to say poor Kennedy's swinging time was cut short. By 10:00 am, the next morning the back neighbor called again. Blake got home from work at 10:00 pm the night before. I told her I gave him the message, but I didn't think she would appreciate him calling around mid-night when he got all settled from a long day being gone. I told her he would get back to her as soon as he could.

If you look closely the leafs are starting to wilt.

Blake and I had an informant to tell us they noticed a can with a sack around the tree root and we might want to look at it. The back neighbors decided to take matters into their own hands and put a can of something only to be assumed as roundup on the root of the tree. Blake called the neighbor to find out what was happening. She told Blake they put roundup in a small soup can. We started looking into property laws - specificly tree property laws. Basically the tree is ours, but anything that goes onto the neighbors property is their property and it is within their right to trim limbs and branches as they see fit without harming or damaging the tree. We were a little concerned about the looks of our tree so we took a sample into the Utah State Extension Service. Basically our tree was a "trash" tree that was a sytemmic tree. Meaning if something goes in one root, then it will go through the whole system of the tree. The small amount of substance they put in the soup can began killing our tree. Which it is now damaging the tree, we felt it was the neighbors problem not ours if anything were to happen. Blake and I decided to watch it for a few weeks. In the meantime, we called the police to file a complaint in case things were to get worse and we needed documentation. By Kennedy's birthday the leaves looked terrible.

Blake's sweet grandpa Jack is living in a nursing home due to his poor health. he had not been able to drive up with his grandma when she came to the hosiptal. So we came to him. Grandpa Jack is always so sweet. He was so gentle and soft.

Great Grandma Bev and Lexi

Great Grandpa Jack and Kennedy

Great Grandpa Jack and Lexi. He was so proud of his grandchildren. Loved showing them off, especially the great-grandkids.

Lexi at one month. Finally starting to fill out. It is amazing to think just one month ago this little bundle of joy fit in my stomach. I didn't notice it as much with Kennedy, but they get big quickly. Makes you want to freeze in time.

Sister time and Kennedy wanting another photo opp. Lexi is beginning to smile.

All the girls playing on the floor.   Payzlee is the best dog.  Always so soft and gentle with the new babies.

We decided to go up to the cabin over Memorial Day weekend.  Kennedy is suiting up for a 4-wheeler ride.

We left little Lexi with Grandma and Grandpa while we took Kennedy out.  She loves the 4-wheeler.

Kennedy loves spending time with her Grandpa Bart.  She is his little buddy.

Kennedy and Lexi with Grandma Karen.

Lexi all bundled up for the night.  I wish I was bundled in that tight!

We found a lady bug for Kennedy.  She was a little nervous at first.  Then realize the lady bug was not going to hurt her.  She loved playing with it.

The next morning we woke up to snow.  Yup we live in Utah.   Never know what the weather is going to do.  Kennedy thought it was so cool.  I will say I didn't really pack us for snowy weather.

Kennedy cold from being outside with grandma.
